Shadows

The Open Curtain Series, Book Two

“How far will I go to chase this high?”

Jennifer

A girls’ weekend in the city, and a husband at home with an invitation he hasn’t answered. Erin left it on the fence where he was certain to find it, and it is not the kind of thing that can be misread.

By that night they are both shut inside a closet, watching another couple through a door. Jennifer suggested hers. She cleared out the hangers, climbed in to watch her friend, and came without making a sound. Mark was pushed into his with no clothes on, thirty seconds before Erin’s husband walked in. Then Erin found his eyes through the slats and began describing him out loud, to her husband, as a fantasy.

Jennifer is driving home the next morning when Mark calls to say he screwed up. It takes the whole drive, and neither of them means to confess as much as they do.

Explicit throughout, and it goes further than Book One. Both of them come close to a line they had not agreed on. Full content notes.
